How Football Predict Hub handles predictions and football data
A football prediction site is only useful when visitors can tell the difference between a simulation, an editorial opinion and a confirmed real-world event. Our methodology is built around that distinction.
Editorial projections
Predicted lineups and written forecasts are labelled as projections. They should be updated when reliable team news changes.
Confirmed data
Fixtures, results and standings should come from reliable football-data sources or clearly dated snapshots. Completed results must never be inferred from a predictor.
Statistical models
If probability or expected-score models are introduced, the model type, core inputs and update timing should be disclosed rather than described vaguely as AI.
Table predictor logic
Ranking tools let users reorder clubs or teams. Qualification, play-off, promotion and relegation bands are visual guides configured for each competition. Where allocation rules can change because of cup winners or additional performance places, the interface should say so.
Match score predictor logic
The score predictor records the visitor's chosen scoreline and classifies it as a predicted home win, draw or away win. When a scoring game is used, the rules should be explicit before results are compared.
Predicted lineups
A predicted XI is an editorial projection based on available squad information, recent selections and team news. It is not a confirmed lineup. Official starting XIs are generally only known close to kickoff and should replace predictions only when confirmed data is available.
Corrections
Football information changes quickly. When we identify an outdated team list, fixture, result, table entry or factual description, the preferred approach is to correct the page rather than preserve the stale version for appearance's sake.
Our principle
We would rather show a clearly dated snapshot than label stale information as live, and we would rather call a prediction a prediction than disguise it as certainty.
